Congratulations to the choir students who will be going to compete at the State Solo and Ensemble Contest, April 23. Our Olympic League Contest was Saturday, Feb 6, and brought plenty of competition from SKHS, CKHS and NKHS. Our large ensemble ladies group, were the regional winners out of 10 other groups and our men’s quartet were the regional winners out of 3 other groups. We have twenty students who will compete at the state level. We have a men's trio who finished as first alternates and a mixed ensemble and men’s ensemble who finished as 2nd alternates. We will be notified in early April if these groups will also be competing.
Attention Ms. Hendry's First Semester Pop Lit. Students. Today is the last day to pick up your graded assignments from last semester including your Lit. Circle project. All assignments in Ms. Hendry's room at 2:30 will be lovingly recycled. Please see Ms. Hendry TODAY if you would like your project for your portfolio!

Our designer has graciously created an additional design for you to choose from. If you loved the original it is still available at the originally advertised prices. FCCLA is meeting on Thursday to organize the delivery of our Valentine’s, roses and chocolate on Friday. Please remember to bring your permission slip for the STAR Events competition on March 11. Calling all Juniors! Olympic College is hosting the Washington Council 2010 College Planning Day. You will have opportunities to learn about Washington State’s higher education options. Admission counselors from Washington public and independent colleges and universities will provide half-hour presentations with a Question & Answer time at the end. Students will have the opportunity to choose to attend four different sessions. Olympic College will offer a session as well as a tour of the campus. If interested, sign up now in the Counseling Center. Day of the event is Tuesday, March 23rd from 9:00 a.m. to12:00.
Hood Canal Masonic Community Scholarship Foundation’s scholarship applications are now available. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and planning to attend an accredited college, university or trade school. Applications are available in the Career Center and are due by March 31st.

The Career Center has added 12 – yes 12 – new scholarships to the bin! These scholarships are sponsored by various Shipyard professional organizations, unions, and non-profit agencies for federal employees. All but one scholarship requires that one of your parents (or in some cases grandparents) must be a current or retired federal employee and a member of that organization. The National Association of Naval Technical Supervisors only requirements are that a student plans to pursue an engineering or science degree. Get your parents to check out the details on the new entries at the Scholarship Information Page on the high school web page to see if you qualify!
All BSU members who plan on attending the African American Legislative Day in Olympia on Friday Feb, 12 must pick up a permission slip in Rm. 113 or see Mrs. Molina. Thanks you!

Honor Society is joining with the Credit union to support the rescue mission in Haiti. Bring your new or slightly used shoes, bound together to the main office now through FRIDAY.
