BHS Research Pathway for Classroom-Based Assessment for Civics: Constitutional Issues
For this classroom-based assessment: In a cohesive paper, you will 1. State a position on the issue that considers the interaction between individual rights and the common good AND includes an analysis of how to advocate for your position. 2. Provide reasons for your position that include: a) an analysis of how the Constitution promotes one specific ideal or principle logically connected to your position on the issue. b) An evaluation of how the Constitution was upheld by a court case OR a government policy related to your position on the issue. c) A fair interpretation of a position on the issue that contrasts with your own. 3. Make explicit references within the paper or presenttion to three or more credible sources tht provide relevant information AND cite sources within the paper, presentation, or bibliography.
