We began reading the primary sources in our text book to infer the qualities of Puritans, Revolutionaries, and Transcendentalists. We began with the New England Primer on page 19.

Monday 9 February 2009
We defined the next five words in vocab list 6. They are: subliminal, revenue, radical, dogmatic, engender. If you were absent, please see a classmate or check our website for definitions.
We read the poem “Europe and America” on page 12 of our text book and discussed the connections between dreams of immigrants in the past with those today and the dreams of Americans today.
Then we began thinking about the three groups that influenced the beginning of the American Dream: the Puritans, the Revolutionaries, and the Transcendentalists. We will separate into small groups to research their positions tomorrow.
