Mission Statement

My mission is to create lifelong learners.  I will ensure that my students reach their full potential in both academic and social areas.  I will build an atmosphere that fosters trust and respect.  By doing so, my students will flourish as individuals and understand the value of teamwork.  I want my students to leave my classroom knowing that they can succeed and think independently.  Dahlia Ruffin, Second Grade Teacher.

Hiawatha Thunderbirds are dedicated to lifelong learning.  This year we will cover topics including:  our community, community helpers, balances and measures, lifecycle of butterflies, subtraction and other fun activities.
