Mr. Bocinsky founded Data Sense, Inc. (DSI) in 1987 to develop online
information services.
DSI created the first online network service in Atlanta to
link mortgage lenders to the real estate community using asynchronous
communications and the Multiple Listing Service network. Today, DSI is focused on developing Internet communities. One such commmunity is SchoolNotes.com,
a web based service that allows teachers to post school
information on the Internet for parents and students to
access. In June of 1999,
Mr. Bocinsky sold the SchoolNotes.com property to Copernicus Interactive, Inc.
As Vice President at Copernicus, Ron is responsible for setting the
direction of the SchoolNotes.com service while establishing
strategic alliances with leading industry partners. Mr. Bocinsky has over sixteen years
of valuable experience in information technology and data
communications. His career has spanned many critical areas
of business management including strategy development, sales,
marketing, engineering, and operations.
In addition to his responsibilities at Copernicus and Data Sense, Inc.,
Mr. Bocinsky has held a number of executive management positions
in the telecommunications industry. From 1989 through 1996,
Ron worked for BellSouth, a Regional Bell Operating Company, where
he played key roles in planning and implementing new data network
and information service ventures including BellSouth's X.25 data network,
X.400 electronic messaging service, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
Network, transactional telephony services, and BellSouth's Internet service,
BellSouth.net.
During his tenure at BellSouth, Ron held numerous management
positions including Vice President and Senior Program Manager,
Managed Facility Services.
Prior to BellSouth, Ron held positions in systems engineering and data center
operations management for Sprint from 1983 until 1987. Ron was also instrumental
in founding and serving as Excutive Director of
CommerceNet Southeast,
a nonprofit industry organization promoting Internet Commerce.
Mr. Bocinsky holds a degree in computer engineering from the University of Florida
and has completed numerous Executive Management courses through the Goizueta Business
School at Emory University, Atlanta. Ron is also the inventor of a patent,
US5371797: Secure electronic funds transfer from telephone or unsecured terminal
.
Ron enjoys tennis, golf, skiing, and gardening. He
is married with four beautiful children and resides in Woodstock, Georgia.
