Welcome to my web page! I will be using this website to update you on assignments, and other important information pertaining to my math classes including class information, class policies, and recommended supplies. I have also included instructions for accessing the online textbooks.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING PINNACLE TO ACCESS GRADES



1.) Log on to: http://gradebook.browardschools.com/piv/

2.) Click on the box "CLICK HERE TO BEGIN"

3.) Enter your Student ID: This is your student number

4.) Enter the Pin Code: This is your birth date in the form YYYYMMDD

5.) Choose the School: Scroll down to show Ramblewood Middle

6.) Click: LOGIN

7.) Look for the current quarter's math grade. Click on the actual grade.
*The next screen should show details for your math grade.

ONLINE TEXTBOOKS



1.) Log on to: http://beep.browardschools.com/ssoPortal/index.html

2.) Click on the "STUDENT PORTAL"

3.) Enter your Student ID: This is your student number

4.) Enter the Pin Code: This is your birth date in the form MM/DD/YYYY

5.) Underneath the column: Textbooks, Grade 6-8, Click “Mathematics”

6.) Scroll down to the “Middle School” section if you are in Period 2,3 or 4.; Scroll down to the “Senior High” section if you are in Period 5 or 6;

7.) Look for “Glencoe Math Connects Course 3” OR “Holt McDougal Larson Algebra”. Then Click “View Textbook”.

IMPORTANT CLASS INFORMATION

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR SUCCESS:
• Attend class regularly and on time.
• Spend time on task during class to improve your understanding.
• Take plenty of time to complete your work. Don’t rush through. Work carefully.
• Complete all homework to improve your daily work average.
• Refer to class notes when completing homework. (Notes, Homework, Notes)
• Study class notes and lessons daily to improve your test and quiz scores.
• Take advantage of online study tools for extra practice. Instructions are listed in the above section.

THINGS TO KNOW:
• Homework is assigned nightly. It is due the next school day.
• Late homework is NOT accepted
• Students correct their own homework.
• Homework grades are based on completion.
• If you are absent, you must make arrangements with Mrs. Bell to make up missed tests/quizzes.

ALL ASSIGNMENTS MUST...
... be neat and complete
... have a full heading
... be completed using a pencil
... have "O.S.B."
(You must copy the original problem. You must show all work, and place a box around the final answer to get full credit.)

RECOMMENDED SUPPLIES




• Several* sharpened or mechanical pencils (all assigned work must be completed using a pencil)

• 2 Red Pens

• 2 Yellow Highlighters

• 1 plastic duo-tang folder (pockets and prongs) for math class only

• 2 (one-subject College Ruled) spiral notebooks (for Math Journal & Homework Journal)

• 2 packs of college ruled loose leaf notebook paper (assignments should be completed on loose notebook paper; paper should not be torn from the Math Journal)

• 2 packs of graph paper

• 1 Ruler

• 1 basic four function calculator

• 1 Ramblewood Student Planner (Available in Student Services)

1.) Log on to: https://www.browardschools.com/virtualcounselor/

2.) Click on the box "STUDENT"

3.) Enter your Student ID: This is your student number

4.) Enter the Pin Code: This is your birth date in the form MMDDYYYY

1.) Log on to: http://www.fcatexplorer.com

2.) Sign In: Last Name + First Initial

3.) Password: 06 + First 4 Letters of Last Name + MMDD (birthday)

STEPS FOR USING GEOGEBRA AT HOME



1.) Go to the website: http://www.geogebra.org/cms/
2.) Click “DOWNLOAD”

3.) Click “WEBSTART”

4.) Allow GeoGebra to start up. The software should open automatically.
