Be sure that your child is reading each evening.

Math homework practice, practice and more practice.

We have come a long way this first trimester. I am very proud of the learning that is happening.

Thank you

Parents

Today we took an Open Book test on the story John Henry and we will be going over it tomorrow 11/8/17.
Working on a variety of Reading skills to make sure we are all OK with the reading skills we need to know.
Please have your child read every night. This is critical to them becoming better readers and also lets them explore all sorts of places and things.

Math.....basic operations and processes. without these we can not build other math skills.
Also applying Math to our everyday life....money collected for Dome, lunch money, spending at the 7/11 etc.
Thank you for all you do.

Parents,

This week in Reading we are doing a variety of things to check on comprehension, characters and other reading skills.
We will be working on a simple report with a partner to use the Internet how to best find interesting information about topics.

Please ask you child about what we are working on in class.

In Math we will be working on basic functions as well as application to our every day lives and solving work problems.
Talk with your child about how to solve word problems....1. what facts to we have..2. what are we trying to find out. 3. Do we have all the information 4.How do we solve the problem...what is the process?

Thank you for all your assistance.

Parents,
I am not assigning home work on Tuesday, Oct. 31st. Happy Halloween

The children will not have homework on the Feast of All Saints Nov.1.
Spend some time talking with them about the saint they were named after or other saints that are related to your families. Happy Feast to all of you saints...
